Dear Colleagues,
The Governmental Accounting Standards Board offers a variety of
resources useful for teaching and conducting research about governmental
accounting and financial reporting, including:
* Annual grants to support academic research that is relevant to
projects in the GASB's technical plan and past GASB pronouncements
* A free electronic newsletter, available on line and by email,
prepared especially for financial statement users, including academics
* Volumes that bring together all GASB pronouncements, codified
by topic or in their original versions, in both print and electronic
searchable formats
* Up-to-date information about current standards-setting projects
on the GASB website
* Short, plain-language articles about all new proposed and final
pronouncements, available to download free
* The User Guide Series, plain-language books about the
information in governmental financial reports and how to use it-a
perfect, inexpensive complement to accounting textbooks
* And much, much more.
